Introduction

Extract from the AIOP Statute

art.27 - Aiop Giovani

Where there are at least three Directors of similar Healthcare Institutions, or their next-generation, having ages lower than 40, within the Regional Divisions, the AIOP Regional Chairman shall form “AIOP Giovani”, having the following aims:
a. To promote the proliferation of the culture of the Private Healthcare Institution as a development factor for society;
b. To support the principle of the freedom of choice for the healthcare user;
c. To promote the adoption of clear rules to ensure fair competition;
d. To develop the role of the private healthcare entrepreneur as an active and responsible part of economic, social and civil development and growth;
e. To provide every opportunity for debate and socio-politically constructive dialogue both within, and externally to, AIOP.
Using the method prescribed in article 11 above, AIOP Giovani shall autonomously elect a Chairman and a Vice-Chairman in Regions where there are more than six members.
These offices will have duration of three years and may be re-elected.
The Chairman shall participate in the Regional Council and the Regional Executive Committee where formed, and shall convene an Assembly of his own division at least once a year.
An AIOP Giovani Council shall be formed out of the Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of the AIOP Giovani regional divisions, the AIOP Giovani Division Council shall elect a National Coordinator for the AIOP Giovani Regional Divisions and three Vice-National Coordinators for the three geographical areas.
Thus appointed the National Coordinators shall participate with full powers in the AIOP National Council and may be elected to form part of the National Executive Committee.

Art.1 -Name

The Association, "Associazione Italiana Ospedalità Privata" - A.I.O.P. (Italian Association of Private Hospitals) is formed out of Private Healthcare Institutions (Health trusts, private hospitals, including those under joint public-private management, Scientific Institutes for research, hospitalisation and health-care (IRCCS), healthcare facilities, rehabilitation centres, nursing homes having a primarily health function, subject to the approval of the Regional Authority), within the territory of the Italian Republic and organised by official bodies.

Art.5 - Object

The Association has the following objects:

a.

To protect the rights and legitimate aspirations of all Private Healthcare Institutions, expand their legitimacy, sustain their position and support their operations within the sphere of the National health provision;

b.

To promote and coordinate initiatives that expand and enhance the health and social function provided by private hospitals, fostering the right of patients to benefit from efficient and qualified healthcare provision;

c.

To pursue direct participation, both nationally and locally, in the design and implementation of healthcare programmes and regulations/conventions;

d.

To carry out studies and investigations aimed at solving problems and configuring the best structure of member Private Healthcare Institutions, including relative to their inclusion within the National Health Service organisation;

e.

To tackle problems concerning labour relations of medical and non-medical personnel, with particular reference to the specific designation and nature of member Private Healthcare Institutions, entering into national contracts and accords, while also putting into effect the necessary interventions in order to ensure their implementation;

f.

To promote solidarity and collaboration between associated Healthcare Institutions;

g.

To support and protect the individual associated Healthcare Institutions;

h.

To act, including in legal proceedings, for the protection of the interests of member Private Healthcare Institutions;

i.

To form and maintain all relationships necessary or appropriate for the achievement of the AIOP Giovani objects, including with the State, entities, associations and committees, both nationally and internationally;

l.

To promote alliances with other socio-health organisations and increase AIOP Giovani representation;

m.

To notify member Healthcare Institutions and illustrate the rules, regulations, circulars and anything else that would be of interest to them.
